New number

Sorry all but I had to change my number. The carrier I had was new and not very good. Plus their service didn't cover most of Namibia.

My new number is +264 813543449

New post should follow later today. I've seen and experienced some very amazing things!

The eagle has landed

I’m safe and sound in Windhoek and have been here now for almost 24 hours. Flying into Namibia looked exactly as I pictured and as the one on the right. Windhoek is a very modern (western) city. Many new cars, KFC, Nando’s (UK) and the Body Shop. It’s good to know that I can still get my preferred lotion and preserver my boyish good looks from Namibia’s scorching sun! No McDonald’s yet but I’m still searching.

The people I’ve met are very nice and always willing to help out. I’ve already set off the alarm to my room twice. Only me…. Other than I’ve just been going through some in country training and will do until Friday. Then I head directly north, a car 7 hour car ride, to my placement. I’m excited to get there, see how things are and begin to work.

Just got a Namibian number if anyone wants to call or text. It’s +264 855615691

Rick Flair

I can now be referred to as "the Nature Boy"...

In three days time I'll be off to Namibia for 4 months and for those wondering, yes, Brooke is coming over November 16th.

This is my first real attempt at blogging so please excuse. As time goes on, I should become more entertaining if not insightful. But lets get realistic, this is me we're talkin bout.

As I understand it, I'll be either doing one of two things. 1. Setting up a computer lab/resource center at a high school for children with disabilities or 2. teaching these students how to interact with PCs. Either way - it should be very rewarding/interesting for the community and myself.

My flight leaves Sunday night out of London and direct to Windhoek (capital of Namibia). Another 10 hour flight. However, I might make that flight. Today is Thursday, 10:00pm, and my visa hasn't arrived yet. I have one more day until I get bumped another few days or week even. I hope that's doesn't happen, main reason isn't that I want to get there sooo bad or start helping out but it's because I've given Ben so much stick about getting deported from England and missing part of his trip to India when he forgot to get his visa on time.

More to follow. I can''t believe I'm moving to Africa! WHOOOOOOO
